We got a chance to talk with illustrator and designer Jody Asano, who created these beautiful mixtures of illustration and fashion design. Based in LA, Jody first attended New York University and went on to study photography at Art Center. Although Jody has worked as a photographer for over 15 years in LA, NY, and Tokyo, Illustration has always been her first love.

“There’s no one reason as to why I started creating my collages. I combined the mediums and materials I like working with and it somehow has become something that I do.  “

Here collages are created using watercolor, pen, and paper. Depending on the piece, some other materials are used as well. More of her work can be found on her website, as well as her Behance.

These stunning illustrations are from the series “Geometrics” by Japan based artist Daas. His work is full of vibrant colors with a balanced geometric design that mostly represents animals and insects.

“The geometric shapes, colors and lines used to define the artwork are a result of my fascination with patterns in nature, architecture and fragmented light, combining all these elements in my mind and developing ideas on how to use them in my work.” – Daas

Daas however is not the first to create amazing geometric portraits of animals, similarly artist Mat Mabe also created stunning illustrations of geometric shapes depicting animals.
