The Junkie Short Film Kickstarter

The short film, The Junkie, is now live on Kickstarter!

This inspiring film is based on a true story of a young couple, against all odds, that must fight to save a marriage overpowered by addiction. The short is pivotal to moving the project forward as a feature.

Pastilla worked on all their pitch materials from the look-book to the poster and also produced their pitch video. We are very committed to seeing this project through until it becomes a full feature.

Take a look at the Kickstarter campaign and get a peek at this amazing and inspiring story. Please consider backing them on Kickstarter and sharing it. Every dollar helps us reach our goal.

Submerged Turntable by Evan Holm

underwater

This interesting sculpture is by artist Evan Holm. You would think submerging a record player on water would destroy the record, but Evan has figured out a way to allow the record player to still play beautiful music while submerged, which causes the record player to create a  hypnotizing whirlpool. To see more about how the sculpture works, you can check out this short documentary showing how he brought submerged turntables to SFMOMA. Jim Denevan is a man with many talents, he’s a chef, a surfer, and an artist. He is the founder and organizer of Outstanding in the Field, an ambitious attempt to reconnect diners to the land and the origins of their food, and to honor the local farmers and food artisans who cultivate it.

Jim creates these mathematically astounding sand illustrations with natural materials and a lot of time. Although temporary, each creation is captured through aerial photography, capturing not only the marks made in the sand, but the landscape they cohere with. More of Jim’s work can be found on his website, here.
